PARK (e) ING

The PARK (e) ING proposal envisions a 700-space elevated car park integrated into the urban fabric as a large public and ecological system, wrapped in a changing vegetated skin and flanked by two pedestrian parks. The ground level and rooftops are free for public use, creating an active and sheltered Plaza of the Sun with spaces for markets, cultural events, sports, and leisure, enhanced by artificial lighting to provide a warm atmosphere throughout the year. The rooftops step upward as a playful ascending route that incorporates relaxation areas, urban orchards, sports facilities, and swimming and sauna spaces. The complex is completed by a green buffer building that absorbs CO₂ and generates solar energy, and by a flexible structural system capable of adapting in the future to new uses beyond the automobile, prioritizing pedestrian mobility and a sustainable relationship between city, leisure, and the environment.
